How foreigners use DiDi
- Download DiDi-Greater China from the official app listing and register with the mobile number you can receive messages on.
- Add an international card only through the app's own payment flow and confirm it is accepted before the first ride.
- Verify the pickup pin and destination against your property's confirmed Chinese details.
- Read the quoted fare, vehicle, and payment state in the app; do not assume one payment method works for every order.
DiDi vs. an official taxi
DiDi and official taxis are separate options. For a taxi, use the airport or station's marked rank and follow the responsible operator's instructions. For DiDi, meet the vehicle only at the pickup point shown in the app and check the plate before boarding.
At the airport
Use the airport's current transport page and signs to find the official taxi rank or ride-hailing pickup area. Pickup locations can change by terminal, so a generic city guide should not override airport instructions.
